Recently, our self-developed and self-manufactured integrated multi-function granulation and coating machine has passed full factory acceptance inspection, mirror polishing and professional dust-proof & moisture-proof export wooden case packaging. After being loaded by forklifts, the equipment was officially delivered to a standardized oral preparation GMP pharmaceutical factory in Vietnam. The delivery of this complete set of equipment further consolidates the layout of domestic solid preparation processing equipment in the Southeast Asian pharmaceutical market.

Customer Procurement Background

This Vietnamese pharmaceutical enterprise mainly produces tablets, granules and dietary nutritional supplements, with products supplied to local chain pharmacies and cross-border pharmaceutical channels across Southeast Asia. Its original workshop adopted separate standalone granulation, drying and coating equipment, which brought multiple deficiencies in production process and compliance:
  • Materials need to be transferred between multiple separate units, and manual handling easily causes dust emission with high risks of cross-contamination of raw materials, making it difficult to pass the annual GMP clean area inspection;
  • Each piece of equipment independently controls temperature and air volume without linked unified process parameters, resulting in uneven coating color on tablets, large particle size variation and low batch qualification rate of finished products;
  • Scattered energy consumption of standalone units leads to low heat exchange efficiency and persistently high water and electricity operating costs during long-term production;
  • There is no centralized data recording system, so the whole-process parameters of granulation, drying and coating cannot be traced, failing to meet the local drug regulatory requirements for sampling inspection and audit.
After on-site comparison of multiple domestic integrated pharmaceutical equipment models, the customer selected this integrated granulation and coating machine. All product contact surfaces of the machine are made of sanitary grade 316L stainless steel, equipped with a closed fluidized bed and atomizing coating system, as well as an integrated PLC process control system. The whole machine holds CE certification for medical equipment production machinery, complying with import access standards for pharmaceuticals in Southeast Asia.

Integration of Mixing, Granulation, Fluidized Bed Drying and Film Coating

The equipment adopts a closed continuous internal process. No manual material transfer is required from raw material feeding to finished product discharging, fundamentally reducing dust diffusion and material contamination. Built with a top-spray fluidized granulation structure, hot air penetrates the material layer evenly. Low-temperature fluidized drying protects heat-sensitive active ingredients such as vitamins and plant extracts from decomposition and loss.

Medical-Grade 316L Mirror-Polished Chamber Without Dead Cleaning Corners

All barrels, air ducts and atomizing chambers in contact with medicinal powder and liquid adopt mirror polishing with surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8μm and full-welded arc transition structure, free of grooves and cleaning dead zones. Standard CIP online cleaning interfaces are reserved on the machine to complete pure water flushing, disinfection and purging with one-click operation, meeting the cleaning verification specifications of clean workshops. Disassembly and assembly do not require special tools.

Multi-Stage Linked PLC Intelligent Process Control System

The 10-inch industrial touch screen can store 30 sets of exclusive process formulas for tablets and granules. The granulation spray flow, drying air temperature, coating atomization pressure and exhaust negative pressure are all automatically adjusted through program linkage. The system automatically records temperature, pressure and operation duration data of each batch, which can be exported and archived to realize complete production traceability. Multiple safety interlocks for over-temperature, over-pressure and filter bag blockage are configured to automatically stop the machine and trigger alarms in case of abnormalities.

Low-Loss, Energy-Saving Closed Coating Atomization System

Low-pressure micro atomizing spray guns are adopted to achieve uniform attachment of coating liquid with the loss rate controlled within 5%. The hot air recycling structure greatly cuts heating energy consumption, achieving an overall power saving of 25% compared with separate standalone units. The fully negative-pressure closed chamber prevents volatilization and leakage of coating solvents, improving the workshop working environment and eliminating fire hazards caused by organic solvents.

This integrated granulation and coating equipment is widely suitable for processing solid preparations including chemical tablets, Chinese herbal extract granules, probiotic preparations and dietary supplement tablets, matching Class D pharmaceutical clean workshops. At present, this model has been exported in batches to Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, serving as core equipment for production line upgrading of small and medium-sized oral pharmaceutical manufacturers.
